California’s ‘I-10 Tune Up’ Project Continues. Expect Delays

The California Department of Transportation reports the following traffic impacts associated with the “I-10 Tune Up” construction project this week.

Daytime Work: Monday ā€“ Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

NO PLANNED LANE CLOSURES

  • I-10 Eastbound crews continue electrical work, demolition, paving and excavation from 8th Street in Banning to SR-111.
  • I-10 Eastbound crews continue work on joint sealing on the outside lanes and shoulders from Main Street in Cabazon to SR-111.
  • I-10 Eastbound and Westbound crews continue electrical work throughout the project area.

Nighttime Work: Mondayā€“ Friday from 7 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

NIGHTTIME ALTERNATING LANE CLOSURES IN BOTH DIRECTIONS ā€“ Expect Delays

  • I-10 Eastbound and Westbound crews continue work on paving and k-rail placement from Pennsylvania Avenue in Beaumont to SR-111.

LONG-TERM RAMP CLOSURE: Through May 8, 2021

  • I-10 Eastbound Haugen-Lehman Way on-ramp remains closed, crews continue grading and excavation improvements during daytime hours.
  • I-10 Eastbound Detour: please use Main Street on-ramp via Railroad Avenue to access EB I-10.
  • Alternate Detour: enter Westbound I-10 Haugen-Lehman Way on-ramp, exit Main Street, re-enter Eastbound I-10 on-ramp to continue east.

10 DAY RAMP CLOSURES:

  • Beginning Sunday, Apr. 25, at 11 p.m. through Wednesday, May 5, at 7 a.m.
    • I-10 Westbound Morongo Trail off-ramp will be closed. Crews will work on new pavement and ADA curb ramp installation.
    • DETOUR: please exit WB Main Street off-ramp or WB Malki Road off-ramp.
  • Beginning Wednesday, May 5 through Wednesday, May 12, 2021
    • I-10 Eastbound Haugen-Lehmann Way off-ramp will be closed. Crews will work on new pavement and ADA curb ramp installation.
    • I-10 Eastbound DETOUR: please exit EB Whitewater off-ramp, re-enter WB I-10 using WB Whitewater on-ramp, exit WB Haugen-Lehmann Way.
  • Beginning Wednesday, May 5 through Friday, May 14, 2021
    • I-10 Eastbound Ramsey Street on-ramp will be closed. Crews will work on new pavement and ADA curb ramp installation.
    • DETOUR: please use EB Hargrave Street on-ramp to access EB I-10.

INTERMITTENT CONNECTOR RAMP CLOSURE: I-10 Eastbound connector on-ramp to SR-111 may intermittently be closed for roadwork, please use Whitewater/Tipton Road or Indian Canyon Road to access SR-111.

ADVISORY

I-10 Westbound crossover lane from Main Street in Cabazon to 8th Street in Banning is available to motorists, no trucks towing trailers, buses, or RVā€™s permitted.

All ramps and lanes in the project area are subject to brief intermittent closures, for staging and other construction improvements.

Please REDUCE YOUR SPEED when driving throughout the project area.
