The I-10 West project in El Paso involves crucial enhancements to the infrastructure. From Monday, November 17 to Saturday, November 22, lane closures will take place daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the North and South Desert regions, spanning Vinton to Thorn. The ongoing construction includes electrical and various other works.
Concurrently, the segment of I-10 from Los Mochis to Artcraft will experience east- and westbound left lane closures for essential maintenance such as power washing and barrier painting.
In addition, a continuous closure will affect South Desert, reducing traffic to a single lane through December 2025. This segment, between Transmountain and Isela Rubalcava, is undergoing a comprehensive road reconfiguration. A detour will redirect traffic through the Transmountain intersection.
Additional I-10 West Enhancements
Next, from November 17 to November 22, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., lane alternations will occur between Anthony and Nashua, including both North and South Desert lanes. Construction will center on concrete placement and material delivery.
Moreover, nightly efforts from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. within the same week will see the I-10 lanes closed alternately for concrete surface placement.
Continuous work extending through spring 2026 will impact Valley Chile Road, necessitating its closure. Detours are established for both southbound and northbound traffic along Desert Boulevard, Vinton Road, and Antonio Street, accommodating the construction of retaining walls and bridge widening.
All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
