Texas DOT Update: I-10 Construction in El Paso

Texas I-10 Construction | I-10 Exit Guide

The Texas Department of Transportation reports the following traffic impacts associated with I-10 construction in El Paso:

  • No closures scheduled for Labor Day weekend.
  • Traffic lane patterns will change on I-10 east near North Mesa (Exit 11) on Sept. 10.

I-10 West at Executive

Tuesday, Sept. 4 through Thursday, Sept. 6
9 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly

  • I-10 westbound will close completely at Executive Center Boulevard (Exit 16).
  • Detour: Motorists on I-10 westbound will exit at Executive Center Boulevard (Exit 16), then follow the detour signs to North Mesa Street (SH 20). Motorists may re-enter I-10 westbound from the North Mesa Street entrance ramp.
  • Sunland Park Drive will close completely in both directions at the I-10 overpass.
  • The Sunland Park entrance ramp to I-10 westbound will close.
  • The Schuster/UTEP entrance ramp to I-10 westbound will close.
  • Crews will be placing bridge deck onto the Sunland Park Drive overpass and hauling dirt.

I-10 Both Directions

Tuesday, Sept. 4 and Thursday, Sept. 6
8 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly

  • I-10 eastbound will close completely at Sunland Park (Exit 13).
  • Detour: Motorists on I-10 eastbound will exit at Sunland Park (Exit 13), follow it to Doniphan Drive, then follow Doniphan Drive to Executive Center Boulevard. Motorists may re-enter I-10 eastbound from the Executive Center entrance ramp.
  • I-10 westbound will close completely at Sunland Park (Exit 13) only if the aforementioned closure of I-10 westbound at Executive Center Boulevard is canceled.
  • Detour: Motorists on I-10 westbound will exit at Sunland Park (Exit 13), then follow Sunland Park Drive to North Mesa Street (SH 20). Motorists may re-enter I-10 westbound from the North Mesa Street entrance ramp.
  • Sunland Park Drive will close completely in both directions at the I-10 overpass.
  • Detour: Motorists should use an alternate route or follow the detour signs in place.

I-10 East at Redd

27 Hours
Sunday, Sept. 9 at 3 a.m. until Monday, Sept. 10 at 6 a.m.

  • I-10 eastbound will close completely at Redd Road (Exit 9).
  • The Redd Road entrance ramp to I-10 eastbound will close.
    Detour: Motorists on I-10 eastbound will exit at Redd Road (Exit 9), then take Doniphan Drive to North Mesa Street (SH 20). The North Mesa Street entrance ramp to I-10 will be open.
  • Crews will be moving barrier walls and re-striping lanes on I-10 eastbound.
  • Important: After the closure lifts, motorists on I-10 eastbound at North Mesa Street (SH 20) will experience a change in traffic lane patterns. Proceed cautiously.

All closures are subject to change. All closure times are approximate.

Exit and entrance ramps may close up to one hour prior to the start time of an I-10 closure.
