Lane Closures on I-10 in Louisiana Thru September 18

The Louisiana Department of Transportation reports that, beginning Monday, September 12, Interstate 10 will have intermittent lane closures between Henderson and Ramah to allow crews to perform routine inspections on the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge. Inspections are estimated to take place over a two week period.

The inspection schedule for the first week is proposed as follows:

Monday, September 12 – Tuesday, September 13

  • Eastbound – left lane – Henderson to Butte LaRose. 6:30 am to 2:00 pm.

Wednesday, September 14 – Thursday, September 15

  • Westbound – Left lane Ā – Whiskey Bay to Butte LaRose. 6:30 am to 2:00 pm.

Saturday, September 17 – Sunday, September 18

  • Westbound – Left lane – Butte LaRose to Henderson. 6:30 am to 2:00 pm.

The proposed closures are subject to change and may be re-scheduled in the event of inclement weather.Ā Motorists are encouraged to utilize an alternate route, as delays are expected.Ā DOTD apologizes for any inconvenience and encourages motorists to be on the lookout for crews and their equipment.
