As work nears completion on improvements at the Ina Road interchange with Interstate 10 in Marana, eastbound I-10 will be closed overnight on Monday, June 17, so Arizona Department of Transportation crews can install an overhead message sign.

Eastbound I-10 is scheduled to be closed from 10 p.m. Monday, June 17, until 5 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, with eastbound I-10 traffic detouring on the eastbound frontage road between Ina Road exit and the on-ramp at Orange Grove Road. Ina and Orange Grove roads will be closed at I-10 during this work.

Westbound drivers on both Ina and Orange Grove roads will be directed to westbound I-10 and will have no access to eastbound I-10. Eastbound Ina Road will be closed at Starcommerce Way, with drivers directed to the eastbound frontage road.

Drivers who need to cross I-10 during this time should consider Cortaro, Sunset or Ruthrauff roads.

Crews are putting the finishing touches on one of the largest projects in southern Arizona in recent years. The $128 million Ina Road interchange reconstruction included removing the I-10 overpass at Ina Road and building new bridges carrying Ina Road over I-10 and the Union Pacific Railroad tracks. It also has widened Ina Road from I-10 to west of the Santa Cruz River and replaced a single bridge over the river with two, two-lane bridges. The finished project also includes multi-use paths connecting with The Loop, a system of trails and bike routes in the Tucson area.

Work began in early 2017, with Ina Road reopening at I-10 in March of this year and freeway ramps at Ina Road opening in April.

Ina Road is the third major I-10 interchange reconstruction project in the Tucson area in recent years, following similar efforts at Prince and Twin Peaks roads. A project is expected to begin late this year to reconstruct the Ruthrauff Road interchange with I-10.
