From now through mid-2017, the Arizona Department of Transportation will be constructing a bridge over I-10 and the Union Pacific Railroad tracks at Ina Road. When completed, this project will ease the flow of traffic at this intersection and improve the safety at this location for all users of Marana’s roads and I-10.

The Interstate 10/Ina Road Traffic Interchange project in Marana just north of Tucson continues its first phase of construction and is scheduled to last through early 2017. Work includes constructing a detour for traffic to use when the Ina Road traffic interchange closes, building temporary construction easements and major utility work. During this phase, Ina Road remains open. Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction equipment and personnel while the following I-10 closures and restrictions are in place:

  • The left lane on eastbound I-10, from Ina to Orange Grove roads will be closed nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, through Friday, Sept. 30 and again Sunday, Oct. 2, to Wednesday, Oct. 5.
  • The westbound I-10 frontage road is closed between Ina and Cortaro roads through the end of the year and also closed south of Ina Road through September.
  • The eastbound I-10 frontage road south of Ina Road and north of Starcommerce Way is reduced to one lane daily through fall 2016.

Access to all businesses will be maintained. Traffic control signs will guide drivers through the work zone.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned roadway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur due to weather or equipment issues.

Drivers are reminded to share the road, be cautious, and slow down while traveling through the work zone.
