Florida: DOT Installing New Intelligent Transportation System for I-10

I-10 Florida Construction | I-10 Exit GuideConstruction on the state’s new Intelligent Transportation System is expected to cause lane closures on Interstate 10 in Okaloosa and Walton counties Monday through Wednesday.

State Department of Transportation Spokesman Ian Satter said motorists will see intermittent and alternating clo-sures affecting both eastbound and westbound traffic.

Installation on the network began in October 2013. The ITS includes 183 traffic cameras, 17 overhead digital mes-sage signs, 135 microwave vehicle detectors, 40 travel time sensors, three road and weather information sensors and eight highway advisory radios.
